Three nights ago, I met with Mary Magdalene during dreamtime. In the dream. a woman’s voice asked me: “How do you know you're with Mary Magdalene and not Mother Mary?” My response: “It's the same way I know when the sky is about to send down rain.”
In the dream, I walked around the wall of an ancient fort to find an enclosed garden. A small statue of Mary Magdalene was in the center. All at once her energy arose from the statue, and she sprang to life, large and grand. In her hand she held a basin of seeds. She withdrew the seeds, and cast them into the sky. Immediately, rain began to fall on the barren cracked ground bringing renewal to a once dried and deserted land.
My first experience with Mary Magdalene was in 2004. I was recently separated from a tumultuous marriage, and was learning how to empower myself to live a fulfilling life. She came to me in the form of a story as a goddess made of bright light guiding me to release my pain and find my truth.
It wasn’t until 2007, during my first year at Naropa University in the Graduate Transpersonal Psychology program, where I came upon the Magdalene in more tangible ways. But I was resistant to her, and what I thought she represented — Christianity. What I knew of Christianity at the time was sin and dogma which never resonated with my soul.
For a project that year, I was required to follow a symbol. I followed a symbol I had been drawing for many years of a curvilinear equal armed cross. I came upon the image in two places, and found I had two choices: either to study about witches or to study about Mary Magdalene. To be honest, I didn’t want to have anything to do with either of them!
An unconscious past life of persecution was bubbling to the surface. I did study, for a short while, a woman witch known as Starhawk, perhaps one of the best witches of our time. But the intensity of the magic scared me, so I put that aside. I also came across The Secret Teachings of Mary Magdalene, a book I cherish to this day.
Needless to say, Magdalene took hold of my soul, and guided me. Through my research of the origin of the curvilinear cross, I found connections with Celtic art leading to my Irish ancestry along with the magnificence of the Magdalene.
In 2009, I painted a life size portrait of the Magdalene, as presented here. Yet I called her the Goddess of Illumination. Because she helped illuminate my path in the darkest of times. And she continues to support my life in ways beyond comprehension. One amazing aspect of this painting is the labyrinth. When I placed the labyrinth from Chartres Cathedral of France in the portrait of Magdalene’s right hand, I didn’t know I would be creating a program following the soul teachings of the labyrinth!
This is how Magdalene guides. Subtle and gentle hints with profound synchronicities. This has been my experience of following the divine feminine.
The divine feminine, especially the Magdalene, continues to be an empowering consistent guide for me. When I ask for help, have patience for the guidance, and am willing to receive subtle cues, I then take action from a place of reverence. After thirteen years of cultivating a relationship with her, I am ready to share my stories, life experiences, and wisdom with you.
For the next three months, (January 2018 - March 2018) I will be sharing the experiences and wisdom I've gleaned over the years in my personal relationship with the divine feminine as well as sharing interview conversations with women connected with the divine feminine, and offering the Magdalene Labyrinth Program.
Now is the time of the Rising of the Divine Feminine.

For me, the Rising of the Divine Feminine is about three powerful things:
For women to heal our relationships with one another. Too long we as women, as powerful creative beings on this planet, have worked against one another through jealousies, gossip, competition, and outright viciousness. I believe when we as women heal our relationships with one another, mother earth feels us, and responds in kind.
For women to heal our relationships with men. The key aspect here is for us to find positive outlets to sublimate any anger, rage, and hatred of the men to whom we have become victim. Cultivating compassion, the most difficult kind of compassionate non-violence, to transform our relationships with those who have harmed us. To then rise up from the ashes beyond victimization, toward empowering ourselves not to fight and destroy, but to sing our souls into the next phase of love, truth, beauty, trust, harmony, and peace. I believe when we as women transform our rage into compassion, mother earth hears us, and responds in kind.
For women and men to support and empower one another to bridge both the feminine and masculine aspects within as a way toward wholeness. When both women and men take the necessary courageous steps of working through our deep personal unconscious survival defenses, our beautiful divinity shines from within. Empowerment comes when women restore their relationships with the feminine as divine. While men renew their relationships with the masculine divine, and redefine it for themselves so they can better understand how to support the women in our restored sense of womanhood. While we support the men in their renewed sense of manhood. I believe when we come together and acknowledge how each human being holds both the power of the feminine and masculine within, mother earth acknowledges us, and responds in kind.
I believe when women heal their relationships with each another and with men as well as empower themselves to transform personal challenges, and cultivate their relationships with divinity, the earth will be regenerated toward wholeness once again.
The seeds Mary Magdalene planted many thousands of years ago are now coming into fruition. The cleansing rains will bring renewal, regeneration, and restoration of humanity’s relationship on earth.
It has not been easy for me to come out about my perspectives of the divine feminine, my relationships with Mary Magdalene, my fears about relating with women, and my hopes for the future. I too have resistance, from past lives and this one, to share my truth. Even so, the bonds of fear within me are disintegrating as I recognize the time for the Rising of the Divine Feminine is now.
